2022 Pinot Meunier
Tasting notes
Aromas of potpourri, strawberry compote, granite, dried herbs, cinnamon, and pencil shavings and a savory and complex palate that lingers in the mouth. Enjoy with mushrooms, roasted chicken, or some hard cheese.
Production notes
The Pinot Meunier was destemmed and placed on top of Pinot Noir stems that had been harvested 3 weeks earlier and dried in the sun. The goal was to achieve a whole-cluster profile, but do so in a way that didn't impart too many underripe, green flavors into the wine. Native fermentation lasted 2 weeks and was hand punched down twice daily until complete. The grapes were gently basket pressed and aged in neutral French oak for 10 months before bottling at the end of summer, 2023.
